Conversations once had

I was remembering once having a conversation with you , I tried to hold you and you said "I see how it is". I got quite and moved away or maybe it was defensive. What I really wanted to say was how much I needed to be near you and how much I loved you, how sorry I was for every! My brother had just died and I really needed you to take care of me. I don't know why that's important to me but I really just wanted you to know what I really wanted to say all those years ago.
